Job Title: Construction Helper

We are seeking a skilled Construction Helper to join our team at Sidhu Great Construction Group Ltd. As a Construction Helper, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Load, Unload, and Transport Construction Materials: Assist in the loading, unloading, and transportation of construction materials to and from the site.
  • Erect and Dismantle Concrete Forms, Scaffolding, Ramps, Catwalks, Shoring, and Barricades: Assist in the erection and dismantling of concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades as required.
  • Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Assist in the mixing, pouring, and spreading of materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Assist in Framing Houses, Erecting Walls, and Building Roofs: Assist in the framing of houses, erecting walls, and building roofs as required.
  • Level Earth to Fine Grade Specifications: Assist in leveling earth to fine grade specifications.
  • Clean and Pile Salvaged Materials: Clean and pile salvaged materials as required.
  • Clean Up Chemical Spills and Other Contaminants: Assist in cleaning up chemical spills and other contaminants.
  • Remove Rubble and Other Debris at Construction Sites: Assist in removing rubble and other debris at construction sites.
  • Tend or Feed Machines or Equipment Used in Construction: Assist in tending or feeding machines or equipment used in construction.
Requirements:
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoors, at heights, dangerous, dusty.
  • Work Setting: Various locations.
  • Tasks: Fast-paced environment, physically demanding, tight deadlines, manual dexterity, repetitive tasks, handling heavy loads, overtime required.
  • Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, reliability, team player.
  • Experience: Will train.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees:
  • Assists with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees (for example: housing, transportation, storage, childcare, winter clothing, etc.).
Support for Indigenous People:
  • Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
Support for Mature Workers:
  • Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.

Language of Work: English

Hours of Work: 35 to 40 hours per week
