Senior Trauma Data Analyst

Job Summary
The Senior Trauma Data Analysis role at Hamilton Health Sciences is responsible for analyzing trauma, burn, and research data to inform business decisions and drive quality improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support executive-level decision-making and external reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to support business decisions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data needs and develop solutions
- Provide guidance on research methodology, grant development, and data analysis
- Work with the team to identify areas for quality improvement and support initiatives at a regional and provincial level
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience in analytical or statistical functions, working with data and providing analytical and query support
- Bachelor's degree in mathematics and/or statistics, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of hospital computer systems, including Meditech and Soveria
- Good working knowledge of CIHI data
- Excellent report writing skills and ability to produce statistical reports and objective analysis of data
- Demonstrated advanced computer skills to develop statistical reports, experience with SPSS and/or SAS considered an asset
- Experience working with management information systems, including data analysis, analyzing variances, identifying trends, and interpreting data
- Ability to prioritize and manage projects in a timely and accurate fashion
- Advanced experience with MS Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent understanding of QA and PIPS (Performance Improvement for Patient Safety)
- Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills
