About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering Manager, Analytics Engineering to join our Data Insights & Analytics team at theScore.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance on enterprise-level presentation layer data sets, integrating data sources, and evaluating performance using statistical methods and data modeling best practices.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify data-driven projects and opportunities, and collaborate with data engineers to build data pipelines and solve related issues.
  • Assist and mentor team members in solving data issues, analyses, and modeling.
  • Identify opportunities to apply data modeling and advanced analytics techniques to drive insights.
  • Oversee team output and analysis to ensure accurate and informative data is shared.
  • Provide support on hiring, onboarding, and continued professional development for Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers.
  • Help evangelize data self-sufficiency among team members and business stakeholders.
  • Define and improve internal standards for style, maintainability, best practices, and new tools and methodologies for analytics infrastructure.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or other STEM field.
  • 4+ years of experience in analytics, preferably at a digital company, with some experience in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of relational databases and engineering best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with dbt, including building and deploying models and documentation.
  • Familiarity with modern data exploration and analysis tools, cloud processing, and data storage environments.
