Job Title: Senior Data Engineer - Business Intelligence and Data Analytics

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team in downtown Toronto. As a key member of our Global Technology Services - Enterprise Process Management & Compliance's IT Service Management (ITSM) Governance, Data Analytics & Reporting team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining data engineering pipelines, business intelligence solutions, and analytics tools.

The successful candidate will have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in data-driven solution development, conceptual and logical data modeling, database design, BI, ETL, and data visualization. They will also possess strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex ideas from various sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data engineering pipelines, business intelligence solutions, and analytics tools.
  • Complete engineering and architecture deliverables and provide technical consultation and direction to team members.
  • Design and implement data visualizations and reports using MS Excel, MS PowerBI, and/or MS DAX.
  • Troubleshoot BI modeling issues and develop solutions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on technical experience in data-driven solution development, conceptual and logical data modeling, database design, BI, ETL, and data visualization.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex ideas from various sources.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Atlassian's Bitbucket/Git, Jira Confluence, etc.
