About the Company

Our client is a mid-sized law firm in Downtown Toronto and is currently recruiting for a Plaintiff Personal Injury Law Clerk/Legal Assistant hybrid to join their team. The ideal candidate will be bright, enthusiastic and work well in a group setting. The candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to prioritize and multi-task simultaneously, and must have a comprehensive working knowledge of Primafact, ACL and MS Office and LEAP.

About the Role
  • Conduct interviews with clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather information and evidence.
  • Draft and send correspondence, as well as respond to incoming requests and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare and finalize legal documents, court reports, and affidavits with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Conduct research on records and other legal documents to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Prepare for depositions by gathering and organizing evidence and information.
  • Manage personal injury records, including tracking and updating client information.
  • Monitor statute of limitations to ensure timely filing and compliance.
  • Complete OCF Forms for AB claims with precision and accuracy.
  • Prepare and file FSCO mediation and arbitration forms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare discovery responses and review discovery submissions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage AB and Tort files, including tracking and updating client information.
  • Handle 70-80 ongoing files with efficiency and accuracy.
What You Bring
  • At least 5 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury, with previous law firm experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and time-management skills are required.
  • Effective listening and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Law Clerk Diploma and/or ILCO Certification are required.
  • LEAP software experience is an asset, particularly for file management.
