Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Liaison Nurse to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will play a vital role in providing person-centered and recovery-oriented care to patients with psychiatric and concurrent disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform intake assessments and provide crisis intervention to patients in the Emergency Department
  • Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to develop care plans and provide input into the care of psychiatric patients
  • Assist with ensuring effective patient flow through the Emergency Department and coordinate with community mental health and substance use services
  • Provide short-term follow-up treatment and case management services to patients at the Mental Health Centre
  • Communicate and consult with Coordinators and other members of the interprofessional mental health and substance use team on patient care issues and discharge planning
Requirements
  • Graduation from an approved school of Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing
  • Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives
  • One year recent related experience in acute or community mental health and substance use setting
