Teaching Opportunity at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf

We are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf to join our team at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Deaf students in an elementary program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Deaf students in an elementary program
  • Develop and implement lesson plans tailored to the needs of Deaf students
  • Collaborate with colleagues to provide a comprehensive education for Deaf students
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues using American Sign Language (ASL)
Requirements:
  • Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Deaf Specialist/Teaching Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing qualification
  • Primary/Junior or Junior/Intermediate Division qualifications
  • Experience teaching Deaf/hard of hearing students in academic programs
  • Ability to develop and modify lesson plans, and to create IEP's to effectively teach Deaf students
