Teaching Opportunity at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf

We are seeking a qualified teacher to join our team at Ernest C. Drury School for the Deaf, a secondary program in Milton. The successful candidate will have experience teaching Deaf and hard of hearing students and be able to develop and modify lesson plans to effectively teach Deaf students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach Deaf and hard of hearing students in academic programs and programs for students with multiple exceptionalities
  • Develop and modify lesson plans to effectively teach Deaf students
  • Work with students with multiple exceptionalities and develop IEPs to meet their needs
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
  • Valid Certificate of Registration and Qualifications from the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Deaf Specialist/Teaching Students Who Are Deaf or Hard of Hearing qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Intermediate/Senior Division qualifications required
  • Senior Sciences, Math or English qualifications preferred
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred (or willingness to obtain)
