Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Audit Group Manager to join our team. As a key member of our audit leadership, you will be responsible for leading a team of audit professionals in planning, executing, and supervising complex audits and projects across multiple business groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance, leadership, and mentorship to ensure operational results and professional development objectives are achieved for the overall group.
- Act as the lead audit advisor, providing guidance on emerging trends and issues to senior leadership, to drive meaningful improvements.
- Identify, mitigate, and report on risk issues, ensuring appropriate escalation processes are followed, and non-standard issues are raised to relevant shareholders and audit management.
- Develop and implement the divisional annual plan for the risk assessment process, leading audit engagement work activities to ensure adequate risk coverage.
- Lead all activities, providing recommendations and decision support to leadership, while handling the facilitation and implementation of internal audit remediation plans to address performance, risk, and governance issues.
- Be a strategic advisor to leadership on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry and enterprise knowledge.
- Connect with key shareholders to prioritize portfolios, forecasting initiatives, and demand, ensuring messages are aligned with business strategies and executive management direction.
- Lead the team in developing and implementing policies, processes, procedures, and changes across multiple audit areas, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and staying knowledgeable on emerging issues, trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide people management leadership, administering performance management activities, providing continuous feedback, and training.
- Build a positive and diverse work environment, providing equal opportunities and inspiring team members to achieve common objectives.
- Assist with regulatory requests in all regions and provide support on key project audits.
Requirements:
- Over 10 years of relevant experience with an undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, accounting designations, or equivalent education (CPA and financial services background preferred).
- Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses and organizational practices and disciplines.
- Champions in external competition, industry, and market trends in relation to own functional area.
- Ardent in processing and handling confidential information with discretion, acting with the highest levels of integrity.
- Proficiency with MS Office, analytical tools, and Internet applications.
- A strong negotiator and decision maker who can influence business leaders and make rational choices.
- Proficient time management, organizational, and project management skills.
- Knowledge in Capital Markets Products (Corporate and Investment Banking, Global Markets) and associated regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of Canadian and International regulatory standards in the financial securities environment.
- Understanding of Advanced Analytics and data visualization.
- A dynamic leader who can work collaboratively, communicate effectively in both oral and written form, and build relationships across teams and functions in a fast-changing environment.
