We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Administration Officer to support the expansion of the Nova Scotia Before and After Program into school sites across the province.
About Our OpportunityAs the Program Administration Officer, you will work closely with the Regional Centres for Education and the Conseil scolaire acadien provincial and third-party providers to maintain strong, collaborative, internal and external relationships. Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating outreach to, and onboarding of, NS BAP providers.
- Supporting program promotion and staff and participant recruitment and retention.
- Facilitating NS BAP mandatory training for NS BAP staff.
- Monitoring and supporting inclusive, play-based, outdoor recreation program development, implementation, and quality.
- Supporting grant processes and navigating fee reduction and subsidy systems.
- Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with Regional Centres for Education, CSAP, school staff, third-party providers, and community stakeholders.
- Capacity building and training delivery for NS BAP staff.
As a Program Administration Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing program strategies to support the expansion of the Nova Scotia Before and After Program.
- Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including Regional Centres for Education, CSAP, and third-party providers.
- Providing training and capacity building for NS BAP staff.
- Monitoring and evaluating program quality and making recommendations for improvement.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A university degree in Early Childhood Education, Recreation Management, Child and Youth Studies, or a related field, or the equivalent obtained through training and experience, with a minimum of five (5) years' recent experience in a leadership role in the area of recreation or childcare management.
- Experience developing and directing early childhood/school-age outdoor play-based recreation programs.
- The ability to apply knowledge of recreational programming and best practices to promote inclusion.
- Strong facilitation and/or adult education skills.
- The ability to foster a team approach to problem-solving and continual improvement.
- The ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- The ability to analyze procedural and/or program problems, develop, recommend, and implement solutions as needed.
- The ability to apply knowledge, experience, and commitment in the areas of race relations, cross-cultural understanding, human rights, and diversity.

Pay Grade: PR 13
Salary Range: $2, $3,107.16 Bi-Weekly
