Humber River Health is seeking an exceptional Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Maternal & Child Program team. As a member of our Outpatient Feeding Clinic, you will play a crucial role in providing expert evaluation and treatment services to neonates, infants, and children with sensory and motor difficulties affecting feeding skills.


About the Role:



  • Evaluate children 0-10 years old with various oral-motor, sensory, and behavioral challenges impacting feeding skills and food intake.
  • Provide ongoing consultation and direct treatment services using diverse frames of reference and models of practice to improve feeding skills and developmental outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, including online documentation of assessment reports and progress notes.
  • Participate in Professional Practice Council meetings and activities.
  • Adhere to professional codes of ethics and standards of practice as determined by CAOT and COTO.
  • Promote family-centered care philosophy.

About You:



  • Master's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Member in good standing of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and membership in either CAOT or OSOT.
  • Experience supporting feeding challenges in premature infants in the NICU, with potential off-site mentoring and training provided for candidates demonstrating some knowledge but requiring further support.
  • Minimum 2 years working in an outpatient feeding clinic environment or equivalent.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development in infant and pediatric/neonatal feeding, feeding issues related to autism, and sensory processing.
  • Knowledge and experience applying various pediatric OT frames of reference, such as Sensory Integration, Behavioral Analysis, Developmental theories, and feeding therapy approaches.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management and organization skills, with proven ability to work independently and/or with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.

Compensation:


The estimated salary range for this position is $40.36-$56.30 per hour, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
