We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Maternal & Child Program Paediatric Outpatient Clinic. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to bring their expertise to our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients.
About the RoleThis part-time position involves working 3 days a week in our Outpatient Feeding Clinic. As an Occupational Therapist, you will work with children aged 0-10 years who present with various oral-motor, sensory, and behavioural challenges impacting feeding skills and food intake. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating children's feeding issues and developing treatment plans to improve their feeding skills and developmental outcomes.
- Providing ongoing consultation and direct treatment services using evidence-based approaches such as Sensory-Processing theory, Behavioural theory, Food Chaining, and S.O.S approach.
- Maintaining accurate clinical records and participating in Professional Practice Council meetings.
- Adhering to professional codes of ethics and standards of practice as determined by CAOT and COTO.
- Promoting family-centred care philosophy and supporting families in their child's care.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Master's degree (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- Membership in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and either CAOT or OSOT.
- Experience in supporting feeding challenges in premature infants in the NICU, with potential opportunities for off-site mentoring and training.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in an outpatient feeding clinic environment.
- Ongoing professional development in infant and paediatric/neonatal feeding, feeding issues related to autism, and sensory processing.
- Knowledge and experience applying various paediatric OT frames of reference (Sensory Integration, Behavioural Analysis, Developmental theories, and feeding therapy approaches).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, inter-personal and problem-solving skills, time management, and organization skills.
- Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
