Occupational Therapist

Fraser Health is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct and indirect rehabilitation services to adults with serious and persistent mental illness.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' functional capacity, occupational performance status, and environmental supports.
- Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans in collaboration with clients, their support systems, and the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct individual and group interventions to support clients in achieving their goals.
- Consult with community-based agencies to ensure clients receive the necessary support and resources.
- Participate in interdisciplinary activities, such as client conferences and team meetings.
- Act as a consultant and resource to community services providing rehabilitation services for ACT team clients.
- Contribute to program monitoring and evaluation, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations.
- Provide in-service education to service providers and assist in developing training workshops.
- Participate in student education and supervision.
- Represent Fraser Health on local committees as required.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university.
- Two years' recent experience working with psychiatric clients in an acute or community psychiatric setting.
- Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
- Eligibility for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists - British Columbia (CAOT - BC).
- A valid B.C. Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for business use.
