About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Drywall and Ceiling System Installer to join our team at VOIX CONSTRUCTION INC. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing drywall and ceiling systems in commercial and institutional settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of other installers
  • Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
  • Install metal corner beads and wire mesh around beams
  • Install exterior and interior steel studs
  • Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings
  • Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
  • Prepare wall and ceiling layouts
  • Estimate costs and materials
Work Environment

You will work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages, and in a variety of weather conditions. The work site environment is dusty, hot, and noisy.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in drywall and ceiling installation
  • Ability to work at heights and in a physically demanding environment
  • Ability to lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
