Description

New-Indy Ontario, LLC is currently seeking a highly skilled Paper Machine Superintendent to lead the production/paper machine system at the paper mill located in Ontario, CA.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in papermaking and management, with a strong background in directing daily production operations to maximize tonnage output while minimizing costs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure paper machine equipment and systems are maintained for maximum efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance area of responsibility.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance group to prioritize weekly maintenance needs and coordinate preventative maintenance activities.
  • Maintain equipment through regular basic care rounds and operator maintenance.
  • Work with the maintenance group to plan and execute maintenance outages.
  • Remain aware of paper machine quality requirements and work closely with Technical Continuous Improvement and Stock Prep Managers.
  • Develop long-term capital projects with the engineering group.
  • Enforce strict safety standards and practices, identifying and correcting safety hazards.
  • Develop training materials for the area of responsibility.
  • Encourage employees to continually look for process improvements.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure systems are in working order and optimize system performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering (Paper Science or Chemical Engineering preferred)
  • 8+ years of experience working in a Paper Mill (experience in both stock prep and paper machine preferred)
