Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a Staff Data Scientist to join our RBC Borealis team, where innovation and data science converge to shape the future of banking. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with multiple lines of businesses to drive business value and scale by leveraging machine learning, data science, and emerging technologies like Generative AI.

Core Responsibilities

  • Extract and analyze large amounts of text data, preparing it for model development and inference
  • Run experiments on Sagemaker, deploy endpoints, perform model inference, and generate reports for specific business use cases
  • Work with open-source large language models, prompting methods, and fine-tuning models for our specific business needs
  • Stay up-to-date with cutting-edge research papers in Generative AI and distill knowledge to identify potential applications
  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver high-impact projects

Requirements

  • Prior programming experience in Python, with the ability to write production-level code
  • Experience working with large datasets, exploring, and understanding data, cleaning, and pre-processing
  • Knowledge of deep learning, machine learning libraries, and natural language processing techniques
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment
  • Creative, curious, and analytical thinker, with a self-driven approach and ability to handle ambiguity
