Job Details

New-Indy is seeking a Paper Machine Superintendent to lead the production/paper machine system at the Ontario Mill. The ideal candidate will have experience in papermaking and management, with a focus on maximizing daily production tonnage output at the lowest possible cost.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain paper machine equipment and systems for maximum efficiency.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects for the area of responsibility.
  • Work closely with the maintenance group to prioritize weekly maintenance needs and coordinate preventative maintenance activities.
  • Ensure equipment basic care rounds are completed and operator maintenance is performed as required.
  • Work with the maintenance group to plan and execute maintenance outages.
  • Remain aware of paper machine quality requirements and work closely with Technical Continuous Improvement and Stock Prep Managers.
  • Develop long-term capital projects with the engineering group.
  • Enforce strict safety standards and practices.
  • Develop training material for the area of responsibility.
  • Champion employees to continually look for ways to improve processes.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure systems are in working order and optimize the system for optimal cost/efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Science or Engineering (Paper Science or Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • 8+ years working in a Paper Mill (Experience in both stock prep and paper machine preferred).
