Emergency Management Specialist

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Emergency Management Planner to join our team in Edmonton.
Job Description: The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, planning, facilitating, coordinating, and executing provincial level emergency management plans, exercises, and lessons learned processes. They will ensure that programs and plans are in place to support ministries, municipalities, industry, and the Government of Canada during incidents, emergencies, and disasters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating emergency planning and preparedness programs
- Developing, reviewing, and implementing emergency and contingency plans
- Providing tactical and operational level experience in the fields of planning and the operation and function of an Operations Centre
- Writing complex plans that involve multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge sharing through various mediums such as presentations, exercises, briefings, etc.
Requirements: A university degree in a related field PLUS 2 years of progressively responsible related experience or equivalency. Experience in emergency planning, including developing, implementing, and evaluating emergency planning and preparedness programs. Demonstrated experience developing, reviewing, and implementing emergency and/or contingency plans.
