About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Educational Assistant at R.F. Staples Secondary School. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the academic success and well-being of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse learning needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students requiring academic support.
  • Assist teachers in the development and implementation of lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments.
  • Monitor student progress, identify areas of concern, and collaborate with teachers to develop strategies for improvement.
  • Support students with daily living skills, such as organization, time management, and self-advocacy.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in areas such as special education, behavior management, and instructional strategies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the role, including standing, walking, and lifting.
