Senior Financial Analyst, Banking

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Auditor to join our team at Manulife and John Hancock. As a Senior Auditor, you will be responsible for assisting in the completion of various audit projects, including risk audits, financial controls testing, and special projects. You will work closely with management at all levels to improve the management of various risks and provide value-added audit services.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Planning and Executing Audit Projects
Assist in planning and executing audit projects in accordance with department standards, ensuring that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Conduct Interviews and Develop Audit ProgramsConduct interviews with management regarding the risks being managed by business units and assist in developing audit programs to evaluate these risks.
Assess Control EffectivenessAssist in assessing control effectiveness and identifying areas for improvement.
Prepare Audit ReportsAssist in preparing audit reports, including executive summaries and audit issues, making practical and value-added recommendations to improve risk management practices and the efficiency and effectiveness of operations.
Present Findings and RecommendationsPresent findings and recommendations to business unit management, resolve contentious issues, and reach agreement on appropriate solutions.
Follow Up on Open Audit IssuesFollow up on open audit issues until resolved.
Support External AuditorsComplete assigned work required to support External Auditors.
Qualifications- University Degree
A university degree is required.
Accounting or Auditing DesignationA recognized accounting (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) or auditing (CIA) designation is required.
Business Experience3 to 5 years of internal/external audit or equivalent business experience is required.
Knowledge of Banking OperationsKnowledge of banking operations is a definite asset.
Business Process KnowledgeDemonstrated understanding of business processes and their risk implications, being able to analyze situations, reach appropriate conclusions, and make value-added and practical recommendations.
Audit MethodologiesDemonstrated knowledge of audit methodologies, project management, and system development methodologies, control frameworks, and risk management practices, and regulatory requirements.
Communication SkillsAbility to effectively communicate ideas and recommendations orally and in writing, and to listen and consider ideas of others.
Customer FocusStrong customer focus and commitment to quality.
Results-OrientedAbility to develop and carry out audit programs to deliver quality results on time and within budget.
Sound JudgmentAbility to exercise and demonstrate sound judgment.
Relationship SkillsProven relationship skills, including a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with business units and staff at all levels.
