Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team in the Pediatric Medicine Clinics at McMaster Children's Hospital. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a vital role in assessing, planning, and evaluating client goal achievement through individual and group interventions. Your expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive behavior therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, will be essential in providing high-quality care to our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop treatment plans for children and adolescents with complex mental health issues.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, as well as consultation to staff on psychology-related issues.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement program initiatives, ensuring high-quality care and patient outcomes.
  • Participate in research and quality assurance initiatives to advance the field of pediatric mental health.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university, with a preference for those with an emphasis in child psychology.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario, with authorization to work with children and adolescents.
  • Minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience in a mental health setting, preferably serving an outpatient pediatric population.
  • Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic modalities and ability to work with complex co-morbidities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
