Job Title: Senior Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team at MacLean Engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing HR support and services to our location, including people and culture, employee relations, policy and legislation knowledge, and administrative tasks.
About the Role: As a Senior Human Resources Generalist, you will be an HR professional who is enthusiastic and service-oriented, responsible for providing HR support and services to our location. This includes:
- Handling sensitive human resources issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and applicable knowledge of legislation, bringing issues to resolution.
- Acting as an advisor and resource person by providing advice on HR-related matters, legislation, and policy interpretation.
- Working closely with Regional Human Resources Managers and HR teams at other branches in developing and assisting with policies and other projects.
- Advising and supporting employees in day-to-day matters, providing guidance and coaching with respect to company policies.
- Working with Regional HR Managers to conduct employee relations investigations and determine appropriate action to be taken.
- Participating in progressive disciplinary action and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) in accordance with established procedures.
- Managing and organizing administrative activities, including employee file maintenance, utilizing HRIS systems, preparing reports, etc.
- Full-cycle recruitment, including attracting, job fairs, preparing and posting job postings, interviewing, reference checks, preparing job offers, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Supporting the Annual Performance Review process.
- Working closely with Payroll as necessary.
- Liaising with Health and Safety teams on health and safety-related matters as required.
About You: The successful candidate must be willing to learn, open-minded, and flexible, organized and detail-oriented, team-oriented, disciplined, and have a positive attitude. A degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or Human Resources is required, and working towards or attained CHRP Designation is preferred. Seven plus years of experience in a HR Generalist role with employee relations experience is also preferred.
