ROLE SUMMARY


We are seeking an ambitious and progressive Senior Human Resources Generalist to join our team at MacLean Engineering & Marketing Co. Limited.


The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic and service-oriented HR professional responsible for providing Human Resources support and services to our location. This includes people and culture, employee relations, policy and legislation knowledge, all aspects of administrative tasks, as well as managing and participating in the recruiting and new hire processes.


Responsibilities include handling sensitive human resources issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and applicable knowledge of legislation, providing advice on Human Resources related matters, legislation, and policy interpretation, working closely with the Regional Human Resources Managers and HR team to develop and assist with policies and other projects, and supporting employees in day-to-day matters, providing guidance and coaching with respect to company policies.


The successful candidate must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail-oriented, team-oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude. Preferred qualifications include a degree or diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or Human Resources, working towards or attained CHRP Designation, seven plus years preferably in a HR Generalist role with employee relations experience, seven plus years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, proven organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and experience and working knowledge of HRIS systems.

ABOUT THE POSITION:


  • Handle sensitive human resources issues with confidentiality, professionalism, and applicable knowledge of legislation, bringing issues to resolution.
  • Act as an advisor and resource person by providing advice on Human Resources related matters, legislation, and policy interpretation
  • Work closely with the Regional Human Resources Managers and HR team at other branches in developing and assisting with policies and other projects
  • Advise and support employees in day-to-day matters, provide guidance and coaching with respect to company policies
  • Work with regional HR Managers to conduct employee relations investigations and determine appropriate action to be taken
  • Participate in progressive disciplinary action and Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) in accordance with established procedures
  • Manage and organize administrative activities (employee file maintenance, utilize HRIS system, prepare reports, etc.)
  • Full cycle recruitment (attracting, job fairs, prepare and post job postings, interview, reference checks, prepare job offers, onboarding, and offboarding)
  • Support the Annual Performance Review process
  • Work closely with Payroll as necessary
  • Liaise with Health and Safety team on health and safety related matters as required

ABOUT YOU:


  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or Human Resources is required
  • Working towards or attained CHRP Designation is preferred
  • Seven (7) plus years preferably in a HR Generalist role with employee relations experience
  • Seven (7) plus years experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Proven organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience and working knowledge of HRIS systems
