Theatre Operations Manager

The General Manager plays a pivotal role in the administrative and strategic direction of GF. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing annual operating budgets
  • Liaising with financial stakeholders to ensure compliance and accuracy
  • Overseeing cash flow, production, and operating budgets
  • Collaborating with the Artistic Director on grant applications and fundraising initiatives
  • Supervising show-related departments, including Box Office, Production, and Volunteer Coordination
  • Hiring staff in consultation with the Artistic Director
  • Negotiating contracts with self-employed personnel and external partners
  • Ensuring adherence to collective agreements
  • Leading Touchstone's training program for corporate and legal organizations
  • Contributing to strategic planning and visioning with the Board of Directors and Artistic Director

The Ideal Candidate

We seek a seasoned professional with:

  • A university degree in arts administration or equivalent experience
  • Management expertise in office systems, budgeting, finance, CADAC, and marketing
  • Familiarity with the Vancouver and Canadian performing arts community and the Canadian Theatre Agreement
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Enthusiasm for collaborative environments and partnership-building
  • Interest in initiating and supporting diversity initiatives

Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum. This estimate is based on industry standards and location.
