We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Westerner Park. As an Accounting Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity and accuracy of our organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Provide regular financial reports for senior management and coordinate external audits.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in developing annual budgets with department managers and senior management. Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and explanations. Create financial forecasts and projections to support business planning and strategy.
- Compliance & Regulatory: Stay informed about changes in relevant accounting regulations and ensure compliance. Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Team Leadership & Development: Supervise and guide accounting staff, provide training, and feedback. Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment and delegate tasks to ensure efficient team operation.
- Financial Analysis & Decision Support: Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance metrics and trends. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of proposed projects or initiatives.
- Systems & Process Improvement: Review and improve accounting systems and processes. Lead efforts to implement new tools or processes to increase efficiency and continuously evaluate internal controls to reduce risks and improve accuracy.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, required
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, an asset
- Proven competency with accounting software (preferably SAGE)
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365)
- Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting rules, laws, and reporting requirements, preferably in a non-profit environment
- Proven skills in critical thinking, analysis, and reasoning
- Ability to adapt and commit to additional hours as required to support operations during peak times
