Job Summary

The Staff Scheduler, under the direction of the Manager/Delegate, is responsible for maintaining schedules for various departments, using applicable collective agreement language, Southlake Policies, legislation, and scheduling protocols to meet operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Filling short call needs
  • Processing approved time off requests
  • Processing approved scheduling changes, including vacation approvals and approved LOA requests
  • Supporting the Manager/Delegate to ensure timecard accuracy

Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year experience with scheduling in a unionized hospital environment
  • Experience in computerized scheduling and payroll
  • Demonstrated proficiency in other computer programs, such as Windows XP, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work in a multi-task environment and deal with frequent interruptions
  • Ability to deal with conflict management and problem solving
  • Effective organization, prioritization, and time management skills
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
  • Demonstrated problem assessment skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Demonstrated individual leadership skills
