About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory Specialist to join our team at Provincial Laboratory Medicine Services (PLMS). As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a vital role in providing technical guidance and expertise to support the delivery of high-quality laboratory services.

Job Summary:

  • Provide technical leadership and expertise to ensure the effective implementation of laboratory policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive quality control programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, productivity, and patient safety.
  • Train and mentor laboratory staff on new techniques, technologies, and methodologies to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their duties effectively.
  • Analyze complex data and make informed recommendations to improve laboratory operations and quality metrics.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or a related field, plus a minimum of three years of experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Proven technical expertise and knowledge of laboratory policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A strong understanding of quality control principles and regulatory requirements.
  • The ability to analyze complex data and make informed recommendations.

What We Offer:

As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on your experience and qualifications.
