About the Role

Aecon Civil is a leading provider of infrastructure development services, and we're seeking a skilled Excavator Operator to join our team in Medicine Hat, Alberta.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate excavators on public roadways, ensuring safe and efficient excavation processes.
  • Use heavy equipment to dig, load, and move dirt, gravel, and other materials, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and conduct daily safety checks to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with crew members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, ensuring seamless project execution.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience operating an excavator, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with supervisors, co-workers, contractors, and the general public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintains a valid Class 5 driver's license or better, with a reliable vehicle for commuting to job sites.
  • Willingness to work overtime, as required, to meet project deadlines.
  • Compliance with the company's drug and alcohol program, including testing requirements.
