Job Summary
Aecon is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Medicine Hat, Alberta. As a Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, ensuring that our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety policies and regulations.
- Read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Operate heavy equipment and machinery to perform maintenance and repairs.
- Inspect and examine vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues.
- Lubricate, service, diagnose, repair, assemble, and maintain vehicles and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic troubles.
- Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs of all equipment.
- Provide guidance and instruction to less experienced maintenance personnel.
- Suggest improvements to maintenance procedures and policies.
- Initiative, diligence, and reliability are essential for this role.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
- Valid driver's license.
- Compliance with the company's drug and alcohol program.
- Fewer than 6 demerit points on driver's abstract.
- Excellent mechanical knowledge and skills.
- Physically fit, with the ability to lift heavy objects.
- Journeyman Certificate (Red Seal) Heavy Equipment Technician.
- Dual tickets will be considered an asset.
- CVIP certification or willingness to obtain.
