Hotel Assistant Manager Job Description

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate should have a degree in hospitality or a related field and at least one year of experience in a similar role.

A permanent position with 30 to 44 hours of work per week is offered.


Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for daily hotel operations.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff to ensure excellent service delivery.
  • Conduct performance reviews to assess staff performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Negotiate with suppliers for materials and supplies and clients for the use of facilities.
  • Conduct training sessions to enhance staff skills and knowledge.
  • Prepare budgets and monitor revenues and expenses to ensure financial stability.
  • Develop and implement marketing plans to increase hotel occupancy rates.
  • Implement marketing activities to promote the hotel and its services.
  • Arrange for and oversee maintenance activities to ensure the hotel's infrastructure is well-maintained.
  • Enforce policies and procedures to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Assist guests with special needs with a high level of empathy and understanding.

Computer and Technology Knowledge

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of a central reservation system (CRS) and be proficient in using computer software applications to manage hotel operations efficiently.


Work Environment

The hotel environment is fast-paced and demanding, requiring the ability to work under pressure and multitask effectively. The ideal candidate should be able to communicate effectively with staff, guests, and suppliers, and work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve hotel goals and objectives.
