Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Plastic Surgeon with fellowship training in reconstruction, including microsurgery, to join our team at McMaster University and St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton.

Position Profile

The successful applicant will be part of a team of five full-time surgeons providing general and specialized plastic surgery care to the community and region. The candidate will have access to surgical time in the main operating room as well as minor procedure rooms. On-call duties will be one in five for the hospital, and there will be access to an outpatient clinic each week.

Academic and Clinical Expectations

The successful applicant must possess exemplary clinical skills in all facets of plastic surgery, as well as professionalism, with evidence of excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills. The candidate will be required to support the Division of Plastic Surgery with teaching commitments and will be involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. In addition, the applicant must have a stated research interest and plan for research development and/or plans for leadership in medical education/quality improvement.

Qualifications

The successful applicant must hold (or be eligible for) Certification in Plastic Surgery by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as well as licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario. Candidates must have Canadian Medical Protective Association or equivalent in good standing. Compensation will be by OHIP billings, on-call stipend, and AFP funding for education and research activity.
