Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at Farm Boy. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for assisting the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation and management of the assigned store.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to all employees, customers, and suppliers, ensuring a quality service approach to all interactions.
  2. Store Operations: Assist the Store Manager in executing strategies to achieve stated goals, including financial results, and ensure the store is properly protected and maintained.
  3. Team Development: Lead the team through effective communication, coaching, and training, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  4. Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations, and participate in community events to promote Farm Boy's community presence.
  5. Financial Management: Assist in managing the store's financial information, including inventory, ordering, and invoicing, and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
  6. Leadership and Development: Develop and implement plans to improve store performance, and provide coaching and feedback to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  1. Education and Experience: Typically requires a post-secondary program in business, with 5-7 years of progressively responsible managerial experience in retail, preferably in the perishable food industry.
  2. Certifications and Training: Successful completion of a Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve plus Level A First Aid and Basic CPR certification, or the commitment to complete within 6 months.
  3. Skills and Abilities: Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of performance.
