Job Title: Strong Start Facilitator

Join the Nisga'a School District No. 92 team as a Strong Start Facilitator, working in schools throughout the Nass Valley. This part-time, 5 hours a day, term position starts as soon as September 5, 2023. You will be based out of the School Board Office and under the direction of the Superintendent.

Job Summary:

The Nisga'a School District is seeking a qualified Strong Start Facilitator to work with children and families in the Nass Valley. The successful candidate will have a certificate in Early Childhood Education and experience creating, planning, implementing, and budgeting for a parent participation early learning program. They will also have strong verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a parent participation early learning program
  • Work with children and families to promote early childhood education
  • Collaborate with school staff and community partners to support early learning initiatives
  • Provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers on early childhood education
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to ensure program effectiveness
Requirements:
  • Certificate in Early Childhood Education
  • Valid Child Safe First Aid Certificate
  • Experience creating, planning, implementing, and budgeting for a parent participation early learning program
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, quality early learning
  • Knowledge of child development, family dynamics, community resources, and early learning
