Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director of Resource Development to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in estimating and cost control, as well as excellent leadership skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and coordinating the preparation of estimates on internal and external projects. They will also be responsible for long-term growth of the business by building professional relationships with customers and mentoring estimating staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop industry relationships and prepare strategies from a business generation and project delivery perspective.
  • Mentor the team across a variety of Mining and Natural Resources projects.
  • Attend and participate in project scope review meetings.
  • Review project documents and understand scope of work as well as identify any potential pricing gaps.
  • Execute material and project documents, ability to perform detailed labor and material take-offs.
  • Input take-offs into computer spreadsheet and review completeness.
  • Obtain bids from subcontractors and vendors as well as overall strategizing with subcontractors and vendors on creating a competitive edge and award strategy.
  • Prepare cost analysis in computer by recapitulating material, labor, equipment, subcontractor and overhead costs incurred in the installation of items.
  • Inform immediate supervisor of any observed inaccuracies or omissions in quoted item or computer database.
  • Develop and maintain resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors, government requirements, etc.

Requirements:

  • 7 - 12+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and expertise in Mining and Natural Resources sectors.
  • Experience with estimating techniques and cost control.
  • Detail oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per annum
