About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join EWS Group as a key member of our team. As a Chief of Staff, you will play a critical role in supporting the management and growth of our businesses within the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Development: Identify business improvement opportunities and drive organic and inorganic growth initiatives for the business. This includes business development activities, preferably within the mortgage vertical.
  2. Strategic Initiatives: Lead initiatives and special projects, providing value-added insight into the performance of existing and prospect businesses. Identify opportunities for improvement or best practice sharing with other EWS Group businesses.
  3. Financial Analysis: Complete financial modelling and prepare analysis for presentations. Draw insights based on analysis performed, and provide insight into possible improvements. Work with cross-functional finance resources to participate in quarterly business reviews, improve financial and operational performance metrics.
  4. Mergers and Acquisitions: Support M&A activities, reviewing CIM's, VDD and company specific data to evaluate the attractiveness of investments. The ideal candidate can also review and develop multi-scenario financial models to support the viability of acquisitions.
  5. Operational Support: Work with the VP, Portfolio Managers, and cross-functional teams to review monthly and quarterly business performances and improvements. Assist in developing effective action plans to implement, track, and assess the performance of approved initiatives.
Requirements
  • Minimum two years of experience at a tier one management consulting firm, private equity, principal investment shop, or investment bank analyst program.
  • Academic performance with an Undergraduate Degree in Business (MBA or CPA is considered an asset but not required).
  • Ability to establish credibility with senior business leaders.
  • Proven research, analytical, and financial modelling skills.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and limited oversight; able to proactively identify opportunities to leverage skill set.
  • Able to work independently and seek out guidance and learning/development opportunities from colleagues.
  • Highly competent in Excel with financial modelling experience.
  • Desire to carve a long-term career path at EWS Group.
Location and Travel

This role is based in Downtown Toronto and requires a hybrid work environment. Moderate travel, primarily within North America, is required, with ad hoc travel related to M&A activities (approx. 1-2 weeks per quarter).
