Medical Director of Community Development

The Salvation Army in Canada seeks a visionary leader to oversee our community development initiatives. As Medical Director of Community Development, you will spearhead strategic planning, program development, and evaluation across various ministry units.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct business and program-related matters for large ministry units, including finance, property, legal, government funding, IT, and employee relations.
- Participate in strategic planning with senior consultants, securing necessary approvals from the DMMC.
- Oversee annual budgeting processes and implement Territorial standards and best practices.
- Maintain positive relationships with funders and community stakeholders, renegotiating contracts as needed.
- Analyze statistical and financial reports for strategic planning and reporting purposes.
- Provide oversight to community ministries programs, ensuring objectives are met and a spiritual focus is applied.
- Develop strategies for staff and volunteer development, handle recruitment, performance management, and terminations.
Requirements:
- Completed undergraduate university degree (B.A.) or equivalent.
- A minimum of five years of related experience, including supervisory and budget management experience in a not-for-profit social services environment.
- Strong skills in MSOffice 365 (Excel, Teams, Word, PPT).
- Proficiency in strategic planning, program development, and evaluation.
- Ability to build long-term contracts and relationships.
- Sound management skills, including setting direction, managing performance, and assessing capability.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Creative mindset and commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
What We Offer:
