Accounting Associate Role at Navacord

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our team at Navacord. As a key member of our accounting department, you will play a crucial role in supporting day-to-day accounting functions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Controller to ensure accuracy of transactions and timely completion of month-end reports.
  • Reconcile daily activity reports, EPIC system training provided if needed, and assist in preparation of various financial statements and budget processes.
  • Manage accounts receivable (AR) and payable (AP) responsibilities, including reconciliation of insurer statements and investigation of invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll function and support for bank reconciliation, ensuring accurate entry of journal entries and other financial transactions.
  • Maintain staff RIBO hours and certificates, generate renewal lists and accounting spreadsheets, and manage discrepancies for AR, AP, and carrier payments.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, with a preference for candidates with insurance industry experience.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting.
  • Experience in an insurance brokerage, insurer, or financial services is an asset.
  • Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, and pace, with strong communication, financial, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across the organization with key stakeholders.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus performance bonuses and commission opportunities. Additionally, we provide a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a profit-sharing plan and professional development courses.
