Job Description

**Job Title:** Assistant Materials Manager

**Job Summary:** We are seeking an experienced Assistant Materials Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials to ensure efficient and effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct supervision to shipping and receiving personnel
  • Ensure receipt of materials meets established company and customer standards
  • Implement and enforce health and safety regulations for transportation
  • Train department members on receiving and shipping procedures
  • Monitor and organize freight activities with contracted carriers
  • Plan and organize the receipt and placement of finished goods, returnable containers, and outside processing materials
  • Responsible for service parts inventory control, housekeeping, and organization
  • Review and authorize DMN reports for defective parts and customer returns
  • Participate in team meetings and physical inventory activities
  • Ensure scanning is utilized in shipping and receiving
  • Plan material movements between the plant and warehouse
  • Organize plant storage for proper FIFO and quarantine
  • Monitor customer delivery performance and complete violation disputes

Requirements:

  • Completion of a college diploma in a related field (e.g. business management)
  • 3 years of experience in a shipping and receiving supervisory role in the automotive industry
  • Possess a valid tow motor license
  • Proficient computer skills in DDL, MRP systems, and Windows
  • Self-motivated and able to work under limited supervision
  • Comprehensive understanding of lot traceability
  • Ability to work in a busy environment
