Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and creative Social Media Marketing Specialist to join our team at the Waterloo Undergraduate Student Association (WUSA). The ideal candidate will have excellent social media skills, a passion for diversity initiatives, and a strong understanding of marketing principles.

About the Role

This role is responsible for promoting and marketing Glow, a 2SLGBTQ+ organization that provides a safe space for queer and trans individuals on campus. The successful candidate will develop and implement marketing plans to promote events and information about 2SLGBTQ+ topics, manage social media pages, and collaborate with WUSA Marketing and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and keep Glow's Facebook and Instagram pages up to date
  • Represent the Glow Centre online and follow the Glow Social Media Strategic Plan to promote Glow and its events every term
  • Work with WUSA Marketing in the creation of promotional materials and design work
  • Ensure Glow website is up-to-date and assist in the promotion of weekly events
Requirements
  • Social media experience (Facebook, Instagram, and Instagram stories)
  • Experience managing a non-personal page is an asset
  • Creativity and humor, as well as enthusiasm and sociability
Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience. As a member of the WUSA team, you will also receive benefits such as flexible working hours and opportunities for professional development.
