Salary range for the position is $102,938 to $147,974 and starting salary will be based on education, training and experience.

Interior Health is hiring a **Manager, Plant Services.** This is a term specific position until MAR 30, 2026 or return of incumbent.

**About the role**:
The Manager, Plant Services is responsible for the overall development, operation, and direction of Plant Services in the assigned region. The Manager oversees the operation and maintenance of facilities and associated equipment, including recommending, developing, and maintaining policies and procedures. The Manager is also responsible for providing quality services in a timely, cost effective manner by planning; directing; coordinating; recruiting; and providing management, leadership, and supervision of Plant Services staff and projects. The Manager oversees the operating budget for Plant Services in the assigned area and works closely with Capital Projects teams on construction projects.

In alignment with IH’s Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation, responding to requests from WSBC, identifying hazards and communicating risks, ensuring compliance with employee training, conducting effective incident investigations and implementing required corrective actions.

**Some key duties**:

- Provides decisions, direction, communication, and support to staff through policy development, procedures, meetings, and reviews.
- Manages staff including recruiting, hiring, evaluating performance, disciplining, and terminating staff as required to meet department objectives. Leads the development of educational plans, in-service training, and mentorship to support employee development.
- Develops and monitors the operating budget for Plant Services in the assigned region. Plans and adjusts budget to meet projections and annual targets, approves expenditures, and reports on variances.
- Determines priorities for Capital Improvement Projects and Maintenance Improvement Projects within the region and develops a long-term capital plan for this area.
- Identifies opportunities for cost savings within the region through energy management projects.
- Oversees the development and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and programs in accordance with applicable codes, regulations, and standards; ensures compliance by employees and external service providers; collaborates with, and provides technical and logístical support to the Planning and Capital Projects teams.
- Ensures that facilities are maintained consistent with best practices regarding energy conservation, carbon footprint reduction, LEED certification and other relevant environmental standards.
- Provides support in specific areas such as infrastructure, technical standards, systems commissioning, contract management, and safety or integrity management, as assigned by the Director.
- Works with WH&S, Worksafe BC, and the BC Safety Authority to ensure code compliance and standards are being met.
- Performs other related duties as required.

**Education, Training, and Experience**
- Must possess either a first or second class power engineer’s certificate; a degree in engineering; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Five to seven years of recent, related experience preferably in healthcare or a similar organization.
