Community Outreach Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Community Outreach Coordinator to join our team at the office of Greg McLean, Member of Parliament for Calgary Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building relationships with constituents, community groups, and businesses to understand the priorities for Calgary Centre. This includes managing the Member's constituency agenda, planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, and events, and briefing the Member on key communications with constituents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with constituents, community groups, and businesses to understand their priorities and concerns;
  • Manage the Member's constituency agenda, including planning and coordinating meetings, conferences, and events;
  • Brief the Member on key communications with constituents, including meeting agendas, news, and talking points;
  • Draft correspondence to ministers and stakeholders;
  • Manage, triage, and review the Member's emails and communications.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel may be required, and occasional long hours and some weekends may be necessary;

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education from a recognized institution or an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience;
  • Experience working in an office setting with a high volume of requests and conflicting priorities;
  • Experience working with community partners, external stakeholders, or businesses;
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with an ability to write clearly and concisely;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Knowledge of elected representatives of all levels of government and their respective responsibilities;
  • Knowledge of the Canadian parliamentary system and federal political issues.
