We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as a Senior Land Conservation Strategist. Based in Nova Scotia, this role will play a critical part in developing and implementing effective land conservation strategies to protect the region's natural features.

About the Role:

This senior position is responsible for overseeing land conservation programming, identifying opportunities for land securement on private lands, and guiding staff in negotiations with landowners for long-term protection of priority private lands.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with in-depth knowledge of Atlantic Canadian and Nova Scotian ecosystems and species an asset.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing conservation landscape plans in collaboration with partners
  • Fostering strong partnerships with regional and local partners and communities to support conservation goals
  • Managing staff workplans and budgets related to program delivery
  • Leading business planning processes for securement activities, including developing and managing work plans and budgets

Benefits and Requirements:

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be required to possess exemplary organization, planning, communication, and project management skills, as well as flexibility, reliability, self-motivation, and ability to work both independently and as a leader.
