About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Professional to join our team at Shannex, a leading provider of senior accommodations, services, and care. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and preparing meals that meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes, and menus, including preparing special meals to meet therapeutic menu modifications.
- Assist with preparation of food for special functions, such as catering and theme dinners, to ensure service meets established standards.
- Report any recipe shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner.
- Clean and sanitize cooking stations daily, and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen equipment according to legislative and organizational standards.
- Follow established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, and non-recyclable materials.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess a Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate. You will also have experience in large quantity food preparation and be able to read and follow detailed recipes and instructions. A valid Food Handler's certificate is also required.
