Job Title: Executive Sous Chef

We are seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join our team at West Coast Grill Sooke. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and presentation of our menu items, ensuring exceptional quality and consistency in every dish.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, and inventory to optimize menu pricing and profitability.
  • Analyze operating costs and data to inform menu engineering and kitchen operations.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure seamless execution of menu items and exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure consistent quality and freshness of ingredients.
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of experience as an Executive Sous Chef or similar role.
  • Proven track record of menu engineering and kitchen operations management.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and train kitchen staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on attention to detail and quality control.
