Recreational Programs Coordinator

Mill Creek Care Centre is dedicated to providing high-quality care and services to our residents. We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Programs Therapist to join our team and contribute to our mission of making every moment matter.
As a Programs Therapist, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate programs that promote the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and cultural well-being of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement programs based on resident assessments, including special events, community-based programs, and outings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community-based agencies and groups to deliver programming to residents.
- Ensure effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers, and staff.
- Evaluate and adapt programs as necessary to meet the changing needs of our residents.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or other related fields from an Ontario post-secondary institution, OR equivalent qualifications from another jurisdiction.
- Experience working with seniors, experience/training on GPA, PIECES, and U FIRST.
- Knowledge of RAI-MDS – AIS certified, if not must be completed successfully within one year of being hired.
