Programs Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Programs Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at Mill Creek Care Centre. As a Programs Therapist, you will play a vital role in planning, implementing, and evaluating programs that meet the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and cultural needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement recreational programs based on resident assessments, offering new and creative activities on an ongoing basis.
- Develop and maintain community contacts and resources to deliver programming to residents.
- Work with different community-based agencies and groups to deliver programming to residents.
- Evaluate and make adaptations to programs as appropriate.
- Participate in department meetings, unit meetings, and multidisciplinary care conferences.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, gerontology, or other related fields from an Ontario post-secondary institution, OR equivalent qualifications from another jurisdiction.
- Experience working with seniors, experience/training on GPA, PIECES, and U FIRST.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of RAI-MDS – AIS certified, if not must be completed successfully within one year of being hired.
