Job Summary

As a Principal Cloud Engineer at Bank of Montreal, you will lead the design and implementation of visionary IT architectures that align business needs with cutting-edge technologies. Your expertise in data and technology will drive the development of efficient and transparent architectural principles, standards, and guidelines for the Bank.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strategic technology architectures that support business growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement technical solutions that meet business needs.
  • Define and document technical standards, guidelines, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to stakeholders on technology architectures and solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation and improvement.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure engineering with expertise in data and data warehousing technologies.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of data lake, data warehousing, distributed systems, and data infrastructure concepts.
  • Solid experience with ML infrastructure and ML DevOps.
  • Experience in migrating data from on-prem Hadoop to AWS/Azure Cloud.
  • Hands-on experience in different domains, such as database architecture, business intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics, big data, etc.
  • Solid experience creating CI/CD pipelines to manage infrastructure deployment and code deployment.
  • Excellent communication skills for providing specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support to internal team members and external CIO Business teams.

  • AWS QuickSight and Power BI reporting tool
  • Nice to have: Azure SQL DB, Azure SQL MI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks
