At Totten Insurance Group Inc., we're looking for an exceptional individual to join our team as a Senior Construction Risk Underwriter. This is a dynamic role that requires expertise in analyzing and underwriting complex construction risks.

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled professional with 5+ years of experience in Commercial Insurance underwriting or retail broking, specializing in construction (builders' risk and wrap-up liability). As a Senior Construction Risk Underwriter, you'll be responsible for:

  • Analyzing and underwriting complex construction risks, focusing on builder's risk and wrap-up liability.
  • Reviewing submission documentation, including engineering reports, schedules/GANTT charts, and budget breakdowns.
  • Maintaining compliance with company standards, underwriting guidelines, and delegated underwriting authority contracts.
  • Collaborating with carriers, both domestically and at Lloyd's, to prepare and submit detailed referral documentation.
  • Negotiating quotations with broker partners to secure the best terms for clients.
What You'll Need for Success

To excel in this role, you'll need:

  • 5+ years of proven experience in Commercial Insurance underwriting or retail broking, with a focus on construction.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate and interpret complex information.
  • Sound judgment in risk selection, with excellent decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with a strong emphasis on building relationships.
