Senior Underwriter for Complex Risks and Design Professionals

Senior Underwriter, Professional Liability and Design Professional
AXA XL is seeking an experienced Senior Underwriter to join our team in a rapidly growing and dynamic segment. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for servicing a renewal book and producing new business through exceptional underwriting practices for Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with department leaders to evaluate the current book of business and set short- and long-term goals.
- Ensure the achievement of continued profitability and growth of the portfolio by underwriting new and renewal submissions.
- Work with agents and brokers to identify targeted accounts and increase opportunities in preferred classes of business and segments.
- Proactively advise, assist, and service clients and brokers on insurance and risk management matters.
- Collaborate with underwriters, actuaries, and claims staff to provide insight on complex risks.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve profitability of the portfolio through various underwriting, operational efficiency, and distribution initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and broker partners to drive new business and renewal retention.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) required; professional designations preferred.
- Extensive underwriting experience in Miscellaneous Professional Liability and Architects & Engineers Professional Liability, policy development, broker management in the respective line(s) of business.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication, networking, marketing, and collaboration skills.
