About the Role


We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team at BGIS. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, including mechanical and electrical systems.


Key Responsibilities



  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems to ensure facility uptime and minimize downtime.
  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and optimize system performance.
  • Assist in the implementation of preventative maintenance programs to ensure compliance with corporate and legislated policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to tenants and customers, responding to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in facility-related projects and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Comply with all internal and external requirements, including environmental, health, and safety, and fire protection regulations.

Requirements



  • High school diploma plus trades training or experience.
  • Experience providing preventive and corrective maintenance on building equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and other building systems and equipment.
  • Strong client-service orientation along with a high sense of urgency.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Must be able and willing to work shifts, be available for on-call/standby, and emergency call-outs as they arise.
  • Must strictly adhere to Health and Safety policies, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Must be capable of obtaining appropriate security clearance.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications



  • Power Engineer Certification or be willing to obtain.
  • Building Operator Certification or equivalent through an accredited institution.
